US Potato Board team visits Egypt
Mayo 08, 2012
The United States Potato Board (USPB) led a trade mission of US seed potato growers and shippers to Egypt the first week of April.
The team viewed USPB variety trials and met with large scale commercial potato growers and seed importers, as well as visiting one of the potato chip plants and discussing seed potato needs with the staff.
The team also met with USDA officials to discuss the market situation. An important component of the trip was a meeting between USDA and Ministry of Agriculture officials to discuss how to move forward with access for US seed potatoes.
A more detailed market report is available to US seed potato growers and shippers.
