Hardee's pushes back conversion to canola

November 23, 2007

Hardee's is expected to complete the transition to zero trans fat cooking oil by the end of 2008, its parent company CKE Restaurants Inc. said Wednesday.

CKE originally thought the conversion would be completed in Hardee's and Carl's Jr. restaurants by early 2008, but the company said it needed more time to effectively transition to Canola oil.

Canola cooking oil provides an ideal transition to zero trans fat, while not sacrificing the taste and flavor of the menu items, the company said in a release.
