KFC now also in Georgia
KFC opened the doors to its first restaurant in Georgia on December 25th, 2014 in the capitol city of Tbilisi. The restaurant is vibrant and spacious with seating for up to 195 guests. Yum! Brands partnered with Iberia Food Company to open the restaurant in Georgia in efforts to continue to introduce the brand’s world famous chicken to consumers around the world.
“The opening of the first KFC restaurant in Georgia is an extremely important event. Thanks to Yum! Brands we have been able to carry out numerous crucial tasks. Not only have we found suppliers that meet the high standards of our chain, and chosen the right location, but most importantly we’ve been able to form a great team for KFC Georgia,” stated the General Marketing Manager of KFC Georgia, Ms. Ketevan Meparishvili.
KFC focuses on long-term partnership relations with their franchisees that account for approximately 70% ownership of the business.
“We strongly support our partners, and our franchising specialists always provide them with the knowledge and experience needed regarding the numerous operations as well as human resources management. Therefore, the fact that another partner company has opened the first KFC restaurant in such a wonderful environment is an additional assurance that the correct model has been selected for the development of the business,” said Yuri Babich, the franchising director of Yum! Brands Russia.
KFC has more than 18,000 restaurants in 115 countries across the globe. The KFC team plans to open an additional 10 restaurants throughout Georgia as part of the brands growth strategy.
