En la víspera del Mes de la Tierra, la marca de papas fritas SunChips, de Frito-Lay, firma perteneciente a la multinacional PepsiCo, presentó oficialmente al mercado la “primera bolsa de pasabocas cien por ciento compostable”, según la compañía.

El lanzamiento se hizo efectivo en el marco de un evento en Los Ángeles, CA, EE.UU., en el que también se habló sobre un nuevo esfuerzo que adelantará la compañía por enseñarles a los consumidores a llevar una estilo de vida más amigable con el medio ambiente.

Las bolsas cien por ciento compostables de SunChips son fabricadas con ácido poliláctico (PLA) a base de plantas, un material renovable que permite que las bolsas se degraden en 14 semanas, aproximadamente, bajo condiciones específicas.

The FAO Food Price Index* (FFPI) stood at 120.6 points in June 2024, unchanged from its revised figure for May, as increases in the price indices for vegetable oil, sugar and dairy products balanced out a decrease in the price index for cereals, while the meat index was almost unchanged.
