Burger King Q2 Profit Surges 29% On Higher Revenues

Florida-based Burger King Holdings Inc. (BKC), which operates more than 11,300 restaurants in about 69 countries, reported earnings for the second quarter of fiscal 2008, that jumped 29% from prior year. Total revenues for the quarter increased 10% fueled by positive worldwide comparable sales in all segments and strong net restaurant growth. Burger King, which is surmounting the macroeconomic pressure with new offerings and strong promotions, increased its year over year earnings per share growth guidance to be in excess of 15%.
