McDonald's Corp. is raising wages and adopting new uniforms, stepping up efforts to burnish its image as an employer in China amid tightening labor laws and scrutiny by China's government-backed trade union.
McDonald's said it will raise wages for its restaurant crews 12% to 56% above China's minimum-wage guidelines as of Sept. 1, a move that will affect about 45,000 full-time and part-time workers, including students.
