Potato Demonstration Day 2.0 Attracts Over 4,000 Visitors with Renewed Format

With over 4,000 visitors, the organisation of Potato Demonstration Day looks back with satisfaction on the completely renewed edition of the knowledge and meeting event for the Dutch potato sector. More than ever, the emphasis was on these themes, which resulted in many positive reactions from visitors and exhibitors.

Marieke Ampt-de Jong, trade fair manager of Proefboerderij Westmaas:

Attendees immerse themselves in knowledge sessions and seminars, gaining insights into current trends and technologies in the potato sector

Knowledge sessions

Potato growers and people from the sector could be informed about current affairs through one of the 31 knowledge sessions or one of the four seminars on the main stage. Mechanization was also well represented on the outdoor area.

The beautiful weather during the day ensured that not only the outdoor stands but also the test fields were well visited. Of course, the Young Farmers Program could not be missed. In the meantime, a permanent part of this day, which again attracted a lot of interest.

Compact and educational

These are special times for the potato sector with many challenges for growers. The Potato Demonstration Day is not only a place to discuss this with each other, but also to gain information. Think of crop protection, sales, variety selection, mechanization and more.

According to Leanne Mol – van de Erve, trade fair manager of Proefboerderij Westmaas:

"By clustering the stands in and around the company, a relatively compact trade fair has been created where you can gain a lot of knowledge in a short time, talk to relations and colleagues."

The various knowledge sessions that work according to the 'silent disco' system with headphones also proved to be a success. 2026 edition The organization will do its best to continue the current line during the next edition and once again offer visitors an interesting and wide range of topics.
