Tokyo Automatic Machinery Works, Ltd. (TAM) is a long-established Japanese company that designs and manufactures packaging machinery and systems. 

Shimane Manufacturing Co. was founded in 1908, became a joint stock company in 1944, and received its current name in 1949. Over the years, TAM has constantly created creative packaging solutions for industries such as tobacco, confectionery, medicines, and consumer goods. TAM offers high-speed overwrapping machines, form-fill-seal (VFFS) systems, cartoners, and specialty equipment for gift wrapping, food packing, and solid-waste baling.

Collaborations with multinational companies, such as Package Machinery Co. (USA) and Enterprise Co. (USA) have strengthened its technological skills. The company has also increased its footprint in Asia through collaborations and joint ventures, such as PT TAM Packaging Asia in Indonesia. 

TAM, which focuses on research and development, has introduced various packaging breakthroughs, including tamper-evident solutions, hermetic wrapping, and machinery designed for specialist applications such as CD/DVD wrapping and seaweed packaging.

It has various locations in Japan, including large expansions in Tokyo and Chiba Prefecture, and has created offices in Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo to support its operations.
