PotatoEurope is an international event exclusively dedicated to the entire value chain of potatoes: from Farm to Fork! The event takes place each year in one of the event’s four partner countries: the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France.

Agrico will welcome you to its annual Varieties and Seedlings Show, where the latest breeding results and innovative potato varieties will be showcased.

The HZPC Potato Days 2024 are scheduled for November 7th and 8th, from 9 AM to 5 PM, at the Royal HZPC Group headquarters in Joure.

Royal Avebe's starch potato campaign is in full swing. The initial results show good quality of the starch potatoes delivered. 

Restrain, a supplier of sprout inhibition systems for potatoes in commercial storage based on ethylene, has announced the appointment of Yotam Guetta as the company’s new Head of Technology.

Peter Erik Ywema, director of Sustainability, will leave Royal Avebe on 1 October 2024. This has been mutually agreed by Ywema and the board of directors.

As of today, potato breeder Royal HZPC Group welcomes Hans Huistra as its new CEO. Colleagues from all of Royal HZPC Group's global locations (HZPC, STET and ZOS) had the opportunity to gain a first impression of Hans Huistra in a broadcasted meeting.

Gerard Backx, CEO of the Royal HZPC Group, says there is an imbalance in the Dutch seed potato market. He expects less volume of these potatoes to be available this season. Although there is a good tuber count in many areas, and the harvest should be successful, the wet summer significantly damaged some areas.

This week, the first potatoes will arrive for Royal Avebe's potato campaign. The potatoes from Avebe's farmer members will be processed into potato starch and potato protein.

With over 4,000 visitors, the organisation of Potato Demonstration Day looks back with satisfaction on the completely renewed edition of the knowledge and meeting event for the Dutch potato sector.
