Sales at the nation's eating and drinking places increased just 2.2% over the same month of 2007 during March, the smallest such increase since December of last year, according to Food Institute analysis of government reported sales data. Consumers have apparently decided to limit their expenditures at restaurants in the wake of higher fuel and food-at-home prices.
