Burger King Seen Earning 32 Cents Per Share in 2nd Quarter Amid Consumer Spending Slowdown

January 29, 2008
Fast food chain Burger King Corp. is scheduled to report its fiscal second-quarter results Thursday morning.
In its fiscal first quarter, Burger King's same-store sales increased 6.6 percent in the U.S. and Canada, and 5.9 percent worldwide.

But in what is possibly a bad sign for Burger King, on Monday rival McDonald's Corp. said its December same-store sales were flat in December, and up only 1.5 percent so far in January.
