Cape Cod Potato Chips in Hyannis re-opens for factory tours
Cape Cod® Potato Chips is re-opening its iconic Hyannis Factory Tour in Cape Cod, spotlighting renovations, visitor experiences and behind-the-scenes opportunities for the whole family. The Cape Cod® Potato Chip Factory is one of Cape Cod’s top tourist destinations with more than 250,000 visitors annually.
For almost 40 years, Cape Cod® Potato Chips has welcomed loyal fans to tour the Hyannis Factory. Through the years, it has become a must-see destination for locals and visitors from far and wide. The free self-guided tour invites guests to experience firsthand how Cape Cod® Potato Chips, with their distinctive crunch and unique flavors, are produced one batch at a time in custom kettles.
The renovations include an expanded space to accommodate more visitors; an up-close-and-personal view of the quintessential kettles with photo opportunities; and a picturesque patio area for guests to sit back and take it all in—and of course enjoy some chips. Fans of Cape Cod Chips will also find new merchandise in the gift shop, which, as always, will feature a complementary sample of potato chips at the end of every tour.
Leslie Waller, VP of Marketing for Cape Cod® Potato Chips:
“Since opening in 1980, the Cape Cod® Potato Chip Factory in Hyannis has been a mainstay on the Cape.”
“Today, we’re delighted to introduce exciting enhancements to the beloved factory tour that will continue to offer visitors the chance to see just how their favorite potato chips are made from beginning to end!”
The Cape Cod® Potato Chip factory is a key producer of tried-and-true flavor offerings fans know and love, including Cape Cod® Original Potato Chips, Cape Cod® Sea Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips, and many more.
On average, the factory produces nearly 30,000 lbs. of potato chips a day, 600,000 lbs. a month and 7,200,000 lbs. a year!
And the flavor experiences don’t stop there – new and upcoming flavors include the recently released Cape Cod® Summer Potato Chips featuring cracked pepper and a hint of lemon that have been perfectly paired with Sam Adams New England IPA as part of a new summer partnership.
The limited-edition Pink Himalayan Salt and Red Wine Vinegar flavor will be re-released this October in support of breast cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
The Hyannis factory is open to visitors Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm ET.
