DKHV opens registration for the practice-oriented training course to become a Potato Specialist

The German Potato Trade Association (DKHV) has announced the registration opening for the "Potato Specialist 2025" program. This year, interested parties will once again have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of potato trading in specially designed training courses. Two courses with identical content will be offered in 2025.

Course Content and Target Audience

The "Potato Specialist" advanced training course is aimed at newcomers and career changers who wish to acquire potato-specific knowledge. Basic knowledge is helpful but not required. Experienced instructors and potato experts impart practical knowledge that strengthens participants' qualifications and companies' competitiveness.

The course consists of two two-day in-person sessions. Part 1, in June, covers fundamentals such as breeding, cultivation, and quality assessment in the field. Part 2, in November, focuses on harvesting, storage, quality management, and trading conditions. Theory and practice are closely intertwined. The course concludes with an exam. Participants receive comprehensive teaching materials and can earn a certificate. This practical training promotes directly applicable knowledge in companies.

Course 1:

• Spring Dates: June 24, 2025 (start at 8:30 a.m.) to June 25, 2025 in Hermannsburg
• Fall Dates: October 29, 2025 (start at 8:30 a.m.) to October 30, 2025 in Großkarlbach

Course 2:

• Spring dates: June 25, 2025 (start at 8:30 a.m.) to June 26, 2025 in Hermannsburg
• Fall dates: November 27, 2025 (start at 8:30 a.m.) to November 28, 2025 in Neuburg an der Donau

Course Fees and Further Information

The course fee for DKHV members is EUR 1,600.00 (USD 1,724.00) plus 19% VAT and for non-members EUR 2,200.00 (USD 2,371.00) plus 19% VAT. Hotel accommodations are also included.
