Coriander-and-pork-flavored potato chips available in Japan
In Japan, The Yamayoshi company’s now offers coriander-and-pork-flavored potato chips, for a limited time.
Coriander can be a contentious herb, some swear by it, others say it tastes like soap.
Those falling in the former camp should keep an eye out for the Yamayoshi company’s new coriander-and-pork-flavored potato chips, only available in convenience stores for a limited time. The vaguely Thai-themed snacks (¥152) fail to deliver on the “pork” promise, but do pack a clear (but not overwhelming) coriander punch. Ultimately, it lingers around and sneaks up on you well after you’ve chewed up the chip — but it is not the best way to get your coriander fix.
For those who already know they are down with the flavor, it’s a fine choice to add some variety to your daily junk-food quota.
