The potato industry flocked to Harrogate for BP2013, with organisers reporting a 20 per cent increase on the usual 6,000 attendance.
The two-day biennial event was said to be buzzing with brisk business on the trade stands and some major deals were clinched.
Rob Clayton, Potato Council director, said: “It’s clear that anyone who is serious about growing and purchasing potatoes came to the event.
“There was a great atmosphere, a really positive feeling as you moved through the trade stands.
“It’s been tremendous for business and hugely rewarding for the immense amount of effort Potato Council staff, board members and exhibitors put into making this event truly worthwhile.”
