AUSPACK 2015 a great opportunity to discuss with TOMRA Sorting Food Experts

March 09, 2015

Experts from TOMRA Sorting Food will be on hand at AUSPACK 2015 to advise visitors about the organisation's wide range of state-of-the-art sensor-based sorting and peeling systems.

AUSPACK takes place from 24 to 27 March at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre and is Australia's premier international exhibition of packaging and processing machinery, material and associated technology. TOMRA Sorting Food's representatives will be at booth 364 alongside partner sales agent Heat & Control.

Among the systems they will be ready to discuss with visitors are the Nimbus free-fall sorter, the Halo, Genius and Blizzard optical sorters, the Eco steam peeler and the QVision fat, protein, collagen and moisture analyser. Additionally, visitors will be able to put questions to the TOMRA team about the wide variety of applications catered for such as vegetables, fruit, potatoes, lettuce, dried fruit, nuts, seeds, meat and seafood.

Karel Strubbe, TOMRA Sorting Food's sales manager for the Americas and Oceania, said: "Although all our solutions have their own individual advantages, our portfolio tends to offer a common range of overall benefits too, including increased throughput and high capacity, enhanced uptime and yield, user-friendly operation, low maintenance, economical running costs, improved customer satisfaction and fast payback on investment.

"We're also aware that every customer's needs are different and invite potential buyers to share their requirements with us, so we can recommend solutions tailored to their particular circumstances, as all our systems are fully modular and upgradeable."

TOMRA Sorting Food's Nimbus uses a combination of technologies to remove a wide range of defects, including discolouration, foreign material and deformed products. Its applications range through dried fruits, nuts, seafood and meat, to fresh and IQF fruit and vegetables.

The Halo is a high-performance machine, sorting many fruits and vegetables for size and quality, thus ensuring and improving food safety. It has a wide range of processor and fresh pack applications.

Mr Strubbe said: "Our Blizzard provides cost-effective, continuous food inspection, to ensure safety and customer satisfaction, by removing unwanted foreign material, discolouration and misshapen product, with maximum yield. It works with a vast number of IQF fruits and vegetables.

"The Genius ensures safe and high quality food, by removing all unwanted discolouration and foreign materials from many foods, including vegetables, fresh cut produce, potatoes and nuts."

TOMRA Sorting Food's Eco steam peeler provides unmatched speed, uniformity of skin removal and low peel losses. Its name comes from the major reductions in steam usage and energy savings of up to 25 per cent that it offers.

Finally, explaining the QVision analyser, Mr Strubbe said: "This allows meat and seafood suppliers to provide consistent product quality and gain large savings, by increasing profitability and simplifying their operations. Taking its measurements simultaneously and in real time, the system delivers highly accurate and consistent results with ground and diced meat, small trim and crabs."
