AVR showcases its new potato harvesters at Lamma
December 15, 2014

Potato machinery manufacturer AVR has much to celebrate this year. This rapidly expanding family business is not only blowing out 165 candles this year but also introduced a brand-new machine: the Puma 3, a self-propelled four-row harvester.

At Lamma 2015 - UK's largest farm machinery, equipment and agricultural services show - visitors to the AVR booth can get intimately acquainted with the new additions, together with other machines from the full-line range.

Broad range

Apart from the new Puma 3, the AVR stand is also the place to be if you’re looking for more details on the Spirit 9200 WB, a 2 row harvester, and the Ceres 400, a cup planter. These are just a few examples from AVR’s extensive full-line range.

In general AVR also offers cultivators, ridgers, weeders, 1 row offset harvesters and crop handling material (reception hoppers, telescopic storage loaders).

Latest additions

The Puma 3 is the latest addition in its range. The Puma 3 delivers exceptional cleaning power (patented Varioweb), optimal weight distribution (50/50 left-right), engine power (Stage IV Volvo engine) and potato-friendliness (ring elevator with active lateral fingers to protect the precious harvest).

The Puma 3 can be equipped with the Varioweb cleaning module, a combination of a standing pintlebelt and axial rollers. A unique feature is the ability to continuously set the product flow volume that travels across the axial rollers: from 100% when intensive cleaning is required to fully removing the axial rollers from the product flow when hardly any cleaning is necessary. This is achieved by moving the pintlebelt forward or backward according to the user’s needs.

AVR Spirit 9200

The AVR Spirit 9200 WB is the high-end 2 row offset bunker harvester. With its fully hydraulically driven webs and pintlebelts it is really a high capacity machine. A modern touchscreen and a joystick make it even more userfriendly. The product flow through the machine has the most appropriate speed at any time. There is always the right equipment for the job: cross roller set, dual rotary comb,… By choosing the WB bunker, you can unload on the go, which means another huge increase in productivity.

Keen & Green philosophy

In line with its mission “to help its customers store a higher percentage of sellable crops with less input”, AVR has developed a Keen & Green philosophy. ‘Keen’ because the applied technology aims to create machines that make work easier for both farmers and contractors while maximising output. ‘Green’ because apart from an environmentally friendly manufacturing process (own solar energy, sorting waste flows, local suppliers…), the machines are also sustainable with regard to fuel consumption and product life.
