The Food blog "Serious Eats"compared the taste of an impressive range of Kettle Chips Brands. All in all, 17 brands were tested, including the brands Utz, Herr's, Gibble's, Dirty, Wise, Boulder Canyon, Madhouse Munchies, Deep River Snacks, Lay's, Cape Cod and Kettle.
A panel of nine Serious Eaters participated in a double-blind taste test, ranking each chip on a scale of one to five in three categories:
- Saltiness
- Potatoeyness
- Texture
Serious Eats did not pick an overall favorite, but Madhouse Munchies was named the "Most Classic Kettle Chip"
