The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd. are warning the public not to consume Hawaiian Kettle Style Potato Chips - Sweet Maui Onion, because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Hawaiian Kettle Style Potato Chips - Sweet Maui Onion, item# 762459, product of USA, is sold in a 908 g package bearing UPC 0 11594 03201 8. All Best Before code dates from 10 MR 09 (March 9, 2010) to 10 JN 07 (June 7, 2010), inclusive are affected by this alert. This product has been distributed in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

The importer, Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd., Ottawa, ON, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
