Las regiones de Grecia Occidental, Grecia Esterea y el Peloponeso representan el 43% de la superficie total dedicada a la producción de patatas, mientras que al norte, Macedonia y Tracia representan el 30% de la superficie dedicada a los cultivos de patatas.
La patata se puede cultivar en Grecia casi todo el año debido a las condiciones climáticas favorables.
El consumo de patata en Grecia fue de 65,38 kg/capita/año (fresca + procesada) en 2011.
Grecia importa un gran porcentaje de sus patatas de siembra, principalmente de los Países Bajos.
