Scotts Precision Manufacturing to Celebrate Best of British at Lamma 2020

Diciembre 03, 2019
A Union Jack branded six-bed Trinity Topper is to take centre stage on Scotts Precision Manufacturing's stand at LAMMA 2020 as the company celebrates the best of British.

The vegetable handling equipment manufacturer will add the custom livery to the machine as part of its 25th birthday celebrations. As well as showing LAMMA visitors the six-bed Trinity Topper, Scotts will also be unveiling plans for an eight and nine-bed version of the Trinity.

Scotts enjoyed a record year for topper sales in 2019 and orders for 2020 are already 100% up year on year. Designed and built in the UK, Scotts' range of toppers is one of the most comprehensive available.

The Trinity 22B two-bed topper, which offers the highest transmission rating in the country, is complemented by the 30B, which offers a 300cm cutting width, capable of handling either three 90cm or four 75cm rows. Launched in late 2019, Scotts six-bed topper completes the current range.

All Scotts' 2020 toppers will feature new front and rear LED side lights and quick change flails for reduced downtime. The toppers offer a broad range of cutting heights and come with static shear plates that provide a "mulching" effect.

Scotts has included a replaceable steel inner liner that offers excellent hood protection and the largest variation of flail lengths of any topper currently available.

Derek Scott, managing director of Scotts Precision Manufacturing:

“We know how difficult farming has been in Britain over the last couple of years. We also know how hard our customers are working, so we thought we'd celebrate that attitude and commitment by celebrating the best of British.”

“As well as having our Best of British topper on show at LAMMA, we're also running a special competition giving people the chance to win a Best of British Hamper.”

“As we're celebrating our 25th year in business, we've sourced 25 products that we think represent the best in Britain and they're all in the hamper that's up for grabs! Of course, there's Lincolnshire Plum Bread and Lincolnshire Poacher cheese in there, but there's also some cracking Batemans bitter brewed only a short distance away from our factory, Melton Mowbray Pork Pie and a bottle of Pin Gin from Louth in there too!.”
As well as the Best of British topper, Scotts will also be showing visitors to its stand the 2020 Evolution, which is now available in stainless steel, with keyless SEW motor drives for guaranteed easy replacement and new spiral segments, as Scotts looks to increase the number of machines operating in high care environments and food processing factories.

Introduced by Scotts in 2005 the Evolution separates clod, stones, haulm and loose soil from a wide range of vegetables, fruit and alliums, including potatoes, gourmet potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, onions and bell peppers amongst others.

At the heart of the Evolution is the patented roller design. The two contract rotating rollers work together to gently move the produce across the table. The movement of the rollers loosens the dirt, which is worked into a valley, where, if soft enough, the debris is crushed and ejected down below the separator.
