Three musketeers (3Ms) invest in potato grading and sorting line

Dr. Therese Coffey MP and Edward Blanchard (Managing Director of 3Ms) formally open the new grading and sorting plant at Bentwaters

Junio 14, 2017

With six farms as shareholders of 3Ms (Three Musketeers) operating more than 34,000 acres, they have contracted Haith, Tomra and Dijkstra to put in a new state-of-the-art potato grading and sorting line at their site at Bentwaters, near Woodbridge, Suffolk. A brand new building for this has been constructed also.

3Ms were successful in a Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) grant in conjunction with the Rural payments Agency (RPA) and received £250,000 towards the investment.

This is one of the largest projects in the country to be funded by these grants and, after reviewing the business plan from 3Ms, HSBC provided the finance for the remaining investment.

In mid-May the plant was officially opened by Dr. Therese Coffey the MP for the Suffolk Coastal region since 2010.

Therese Coffey, MP for the Suffolk Coastal region:

“It’s very encouraging to see farmers investing in the future in these difficult times and this equipment adds considerable value to this important potato growing region”.
