The New Zealand-based company CropLogic is the first winner of IBM’s SmartCamp Australia and New Zealand, part of a global program for start-up companies.
CropLogic, which was the only New Zealand finalist in the program, is a provider of predictive decision support tools to crop growers and processors. Powered by analytics, the company’s online crop management tool currently helps potato processors and growers to forecast and improve yield and operate more sustainably.
What is CropLogic?
CropLogic was created following farmers’ interest in a practical but effective method to help them schedule Irrigation and Nitrogen for optimal yield.
Around the world scientists have been helping crop farmers for many years with best use of Water and Nitrogen. But farmers sought more than scientific advice. They sought something they could use themselves. Something which delivered practical assistance and potential monetary benefits but didn’t require loading of computer programs or similar specialist non farming technical knowledge.
Can I use CropLogic now?
CropLogic’s Service is currently being used by selected Growers and their Processors in the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
CropLogic will be available in other countries following completion of growing trials in each successive additional country. These growing trials are necessary to provide the data to first make any unique variety, environment or grower practice related amendments.
What is IBM SmartCamp?
SmartCamp is an exclusive global program bringing together entrepreneurs, investors and experienced mentors who want to build a Smarter Planet. SmartCamp provides access to world-class advisors plus a direct route to seed and venture capital.
