Canada: Potato shortage on Prince Edward Island could lead to better prices

A potato shortage on the Island could help farmers get paid more for their product, says a spokesman for the P.E.I. Potato Board. Greg Donald, the board’s general manager, said the message for growers is there is an opportunity to be more bullish on prices.
Donald said the potato supply in North America is tight and in P.E.I. production was down last fall while shipping has been the same or up over last year.
