British potato crops under pressure from ongoing erratic weather

Arable farmers in Britain are bracing themselves for a rough ride this summer as the unpredictable weather takes its toll on crops throughout Britain. The heavy rain and flooding, coupled with plummeting temperatures over the last three months, has proved a headache for farmers and many have struggled to get crops into the ground.
Potatoes are expected to take the biggest hit, with experts warning of low yields and the risk of disease, while black-grass has also emerged as a serious issue.
