Donegal Creameries buys Scottish-based seed potato grower AJ Allan.

Agri-food company Donegal Creameries has bought Scottish-based seed potato grower AJ Allan.

The deal was done through Donegal's subsidiary Irish Potato Marketing, which is based in Dublin. No financial details were given.

AJ Allan is based in Brechin and grows around 12,000 tons a year of certified seed potatoes which will add to IPM's existing 50,000 annual tons.

The deal comes a week after Donegal Creameries sold its milk and retail stores businesses to Connacht Gold.
