Wendy's workers to finally receive pay

Septiembre 07, 2007

The 350 to 400 Wendy's workers who lost their jobs in July finally may be able to get their unpaid wages covered by a $350,000 gift fund set up by Wendy's International.

The Dublin, Ohio-based restaurant chain announced today that the money has been set aside and the state Attorney General's office will administer the fund.

"That's awesome,"said Christine M. Bednarski, of Chicopee, today. Bednarski and her boyfriend, Jonathan Cruz, who worked at the Wendy's in Ludlow, and are owed at least $300 each.

Wendy's International also hopes to reopen five of the shuttered restaurants in the next 30 to 60 days, and is looking for people to staff them.
