With a broad range of varieties Agrico enables growers to spread their risks efficiently and offers its customers a wide selection of potatoes with different flavours, cooking behaviour, prices, forms of packaging and processing possibilities.

From 11.30 a.m. until 12.30 p.m. on Thursday 5 February Agrico will welcome visitors to its stand with a festive reception to celebrate that ever more buyers all over the world are opting for Agrico as a partner and the supplier of their potato varieties. During this reception Agrico and its subsidiaries and partners will pay attention to these international successes.

At the fair Agrico will focus on eight different varieties that have greatly contributed towards the company’s success in the various sectors all over the world:

  • Arizona, a second early ware variety with high yields under various climatic conditions;
  • Rudolph, an early main crop ware variety with an attractive red skin, good heat tolerance and very high yields;
  • Fontane, a variety with high yields for the French fries industry;
  • Destiny, a second early table variety that is also suitable for crisps, with good yields and heat tolerance;
  • Markies, a late processing variety with high yields, suitable for fresh fries, fresh consumption, fastfood and crisps industries;
  • Constance, an oval round table variety with good yields; and
  • Esmee, an early ware variety with a nice red skin, good virus resistance and excellent yields.

Agrico is going to pay special attention to Carolus, a table variety that was specially developed in-house to meet the need for varieties that are particularly suitable for organic cultivation, in which no use is made of crop protection products.

This is the first of a new generation of varieties with exceptionally good resistance to phytophthora.

This variety, which can also be used in cultivation according to conventional methods in many different regions, combines its strength with various consumption qualities. It is suitable for boiling and frying, but also for chips and crisps. Another distinctive characteristic of this variety apart from its good flavour are its flat red eyes, a striking characteristic in many markets.
