Intersnack Romania is the Romanian subsidiary of the Intersnack Group, a major manufacturer of potato chips and Snacks in Europe, with headquarters in Germany. Intersnack brands have been active in the Romanian market since 1994.

PepsiCo entered the Romanian market in 2004, acquiring the leader on the potato chips market, the Star Foods company, present in Romania since 1993. Thus, PepsiCo became one of the main players on the Snacks market in Romania.
