Europatat welcomes Romans Vorss as new Technical Affairs Director

The European Potato Trade Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Romans Vorss as the new Technical Affairs Director of the Association, with effect as of 26 October 2020.

Romans Vorss has an extensive professional experience of more than ten years in Brussels, where he has been promoting and defending the interests of member associations and trading companies active in the EU agri-food trade sector. Romans holds a Bachelor in Food Technology and a Master in Natural Science from the University of Latvia, where he is originally from, and he has practical experience in a variety of EU policy areas related to food safety and trade among others.

As such, in his position of Europatat’s Technical Affairs Director Romans Vorss will be responsible for dossiers such as plant and food safety, trade, or research and innovation. Together with the Europatat’s Secretary General, he will also support the association’s public affairs and policy objectives trough the implementation of different lobbying activities.

Romans Vorss:

“I am excited to be joining the Europatat family at this challenging time and to be part of the Association’s new team. I am looking forward to working with all our members to ensure they receive the high-quality support and advice they need to help grow their businesses and that the sector is well represented at the European level.”

On behalf of the Europatat Board, Europatat’s Secretary General, Berta Redondo Benito, has welcomed this new addition to the team.
