Calbee UK invests in Fabcon pellet frying and distribution equipment

Global snack producer Calbee has invested in new frying, seasoning, and distribution machinery for its Deeside plant in the United Kingdom. The investment has seen Calbee installing a variety of state-of-the-art frying technology, including an indirect heating system, which has been designed, built, and installed by industry specialists, Fabcon Food Systems.

The company’s new line can produce fried snacks from pellets or extruded products, with fried products being integrated into an existing seasoning and distribution system which has now been extended, adding further stations. Platform extensions have also been added to accommodate the new Fabcon-designed horizontal motion and electromagnetic vibratory conveyors.

The ongoing and long-established relationship between Calbee and Fabcon Food Systems has seen both companies working closely as part of Calbee’s expansion plans, which included upgrades to Calbee’s Seabrooks Crisps Bradford site, and now at the Calbee site in Deeside.

Founded in 2015, Fabcon Food Systems manufactures, supplies, and installs handling and processing equipment for the food industry. Designed and built at the company’s Norwich factory in the UK, Fabcon’s team of 25 supply systems and machinery to customers in the UK, mainland Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Africa.
