Wageningen University & Research and DLG Benelux have signed a contract for hosting PotatoEurope 2021 at the location of Wageningen Plant Research in Lelystad, The Netherlands.

After having organized PotatoEurope for multiple times in Emmeloord, the event is moving to Lelystad with a good reason. The facilities offered by Wageningen University & Research in Lelystad allow the organizers to deal with all weather conditions given the fact that PotatoEurope is mostly an outdoor event.

This new location for PotatoEurope is located in the province of Flevoland, which is the heart of one of Netherlands’ most important potato production areas. Only 60 kilometers from Amsterdam and located very close to the highway.

Lelystad is the main location of the business unit field crops of Wageningen University & Research. The experts of Field crops contribute to innovation and knowledge development in arable farming, field production of vegetables, green space, nursery stock and fruit growing, at both the national and international level.

In total the area of Wageningen University & Research in Lelystad comprises more than 700 hectares. PotatoEurope is an international event exclusively dedicated to the entire chain of potatoes.

This event takes place each year in one of the event’s four partner countries: Germany, Belgium, France and The Netherlands.

For PotatoEurope 2021 an area of approx. 20 hectares is being allocated, allowing the organisers to organize extensive live machinery demonstrations, accommodate trial fields for crop protection, fertilizer and green manuring demonstrations and of course the exhibition part itself. During PotatoEurope an extensive conference program will be organised and will run parallel to the event.

PotatoEurope has built up a solid reputation as being one of the major events within the Potato industry in Europe and beyond!

PotatoEurope 2021 takes place at Wageningen Plant Research in Lelystad on 1 and 2 September and the event will host more than 250 exhibitors from all over the world and will welcome more than 16.000 visitors in 2 days.

More information for exhibitors and visitors considering joining the event will be available shortly at: www.potatoeurope.nl
