Potato Processing Equipment specialist Kiremko introduces the Kiremko KnifeGuard®.
The KnifeGuard® is a unique knife identification system for the
QuadraFlow hydro cutter.
The main goal is to control and maintain the knife blocks
and matching alignment tubes. A so-called RFID tag connected with an antenna is
placed inside the hydro cutter to check the right combination of inlet (alignment
tube), knife block and outlet with the selected cutting size. It can also keep record
of its operation hours.
The RFID tag is placed underneath the
knife blocks and connects with the RFID
antenna inside the QuadraFlow hydro
cutter. The data is sent to a processing unit, from where it can be read by an
external Programmable Logic Controller
(PLC). When the processing unit
detects an incorrect combination of inlet (alignment tube), knife block and outlet,
it gives a warning signal to the PLC. This
way, operator errors are noticed in the
earliest stage.
The Kiremko KnifeGuard® can give you a detailed record of operation and grinding hours of any particular knife block.
The programming unit can give you a detailed record of operation and grinding hours of any particular knife block. Suitable for synthetic knife blocks. Existing knife blocks can be retrofitted and are easy to add in the programming unit.
