There’s been a lot of noise in the press recently about a large Canadian company claiming it’s going to ‘revolutionise’ the way we eat jacket potatoes by baking and freezing them - but, here’s a thought - a small British company, Bannisters’ Farm, has been doing just that for FIVE years. Bannisters’ Farm Ready Baked Potatoes have been on the market since 2007 launching in Morrisons and then steadily expanding availability through Tesco, Iceland, Nisa Today’s and Waitrose, developing a dedicated band of followers on the way.
Using only British potatoes, the Bannisters, a Yorkshire based farming family, took years to perfect their products, trialling all kinds of different potatoes to find the ones that retained the best traditional baked flavour for their brand. At the time of launch in 2007, the Bannisters’ Farm range filled a total gap in the market and provided something genuinely innovative for the freezer aisle – British potatoes that are fully traditionally baked, cross cut and drizzled with olive oil before being frozen, produced by a British family-run business with strong Yorkshire farming roots. They supplied the perfect solution for any time strapped individual who wanted a healthy, ready- in-minutes meal.
Bannister's Farms: "We’re confident that in any taste test with the competition Bannisters’ Farm Ready Baked Potatoes would win, based on taste, texture and quality".
