Martin's Potato Chips broke ground Monday on an 18,000 square-foot expansion of its Jackson Township facility.
Primarily warehouse space, the $920,000 project includes a heat exchanger, which will convert steam exhaust from the potato chip fryers into heat for the new expansion.
Installing sprinklers throughout the complex to comply with new building codes is also part of the project, which will kick off construction within the next few weeks and conclude in mid-August, said Butch Potter, president of the company.
This is the third time Martin's has broken ground at its Jackson Township plant, which employs 110 people.
