Punjab Cooperation Minister Captain Kanwaljit on Thursday revealed that with the facilitation of Markfed, Punjab 3000 Metric Tonne of potatoes would be exported to Sri Lanka and Dubai.
Due to bumper crop of potato this year, farmers were finding it very difficult to get even the cost of production in the domestic market and approached the state government for remedy, Minister told reporters here adding that Markfed was assigned to job to explore the export potential of the crop and finally with the help of private parties, now 3000 MT of crop was being exported to Sri Lanka and Dubai.
