McCain Foods sells Taiwanese manufacturing activities
Today the management of McCain Foods Taiwan announced the sale of its dumpling and hot pot ingredients manufacturing activities in Kaohsiung’s Chi Shan area to Sinkung, a Taiwanese food processer specialising in Asian foods. The buyers have expressed their desire to retain sixty of the affected eighty five full-time positions in Chi Shan. McCain Foods will reach a settlement with the twenty five redundant employees according to the Labor Standards Law in Taiwan.
McCain Foods is genuinely convinced that the continuity of its business activities in Chi Shan is best served by making it an independent entity. To ensure this continuity, McCain Foods will therefore remain the largest customer of the new entity in a partnership concerning dumpling and hot pot products for Asian markets. McCain Foods Taiwan is also committed to providing support for the buyers to ensure a smooth transition for a period of one year.
