Company officials for the Wild River Foods potato processing plant, which was gutted by fire on July 1, have not decided if they will rebuild, according to a statement issued Monday.
"It has been almost 30 days since the fire consumed our plant in Grandview. Since the fire we have accomplished much, but still have unanswered questions,"the letter stated.
Wild River, which produced french fries and hashbrowns, is owned by Ochoa Ag Unlimited Foods, with a headquarters in Boise, Idaho.
The hold-up is over insurance coverage.
"It appears it will be quite awhile before a determination of the total coverage will be forthcoming,"the statement said. "Until this is accomplished, it will be impossible to make a determination of possible capacity replacement."
