Azulatis - Sustainable Water Reuse in the Potato Sector

Azulatis is a pioneer in the field of water reuse within the potato industry. Since the construction of the first installation in Flanders for Farm Frites in 2007, we have further expanded our expertise and now manage 13 water reuse installations. These installations provide more than 3,000,000 m³ of process water annually, derived from purified wastewater.

Azulatis adopts a holistic approach to water usage, proposing the best possible technologies to ensure a robust, efficient, and sustainable process. We manage the installations according to the DBFMO model (Design, Build, Finance, Maintain, Operate), meaning we are responsible for the complete management of the installations. 

Thanks to the holistic approach to the water balance, Azulatis has developed an advanced solution that includes pre-filtration, acidification with CO₂ (instead of mineral salts), coagulation, ultrafiltration, and reverse osmosis.
