Participation 'Imagine a World Without Potatoes' Campaign

The Chinese authorities have granted the campaign a unique exhibition site at the Expo, right at the main entrance of the International Pavilion. At the site we will showcase the work done by CIP, where the campaign will have a starring role.

This is the only site at the Expo dedicated to the potato. We will build a replica of the terraces of Moray, an ancient Incan site that is believed to be the first agricultural science lab in South America.

The terraces were used by the Incas to test different crops and potato varieties that would then be planted throughout their empire.

The terraces of the Moray replica at the International Horticultural Exhibition Beijing 2019 will be constructed using modern, sustainable bioconstruction building techniques based on the reuse of discarded tires to recreate the terraces.

The tires and terraces will be planted with different varieties of potato and sweet potato.
