Snacks maker Frito Lay has been fined almost 18 million Turkish Liras (8.8 million USD) by Turkey’s competition board over single-product loyalty discount allegations.

The investigation launched against the global company owned by Pepsi Co. resulted in the board’s decision against the firm.

The board decision read that Frito Lay was violating Turkey’s Loyalty Competition Act through practices aimed solely at the sale of its products. The firm has therefore been fined 17.909 million liras.
