Employees of the Simplot Potato Processing plant in Grand Forks, North Dakota, were evacuated from the building late Wednesday night when a fire started, according to a press release from the Grand Forks Fire Department.

Firefighters found smoke and fire inside 3630 Gateway Drive just before 11 p.m.. The blaze was quickly extinguished, but the release estimates the equipment fire caused USD 150,000 in damage to building and contents.

Grand Forks fire crews were called back to the scene of the incident later that night.

One firefighter was transported to the local Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

The cause of the fire wasn't immediately determined. The investigation is ongoing.
