“In season from late October new potatoes from Italy are a highlight in the seasonal calendar.”

They’re grown along a ten mile strip of coastline in free-draining sandy soil and harvested by hand to protect their delicate skins.
George Christoudias:
“The Italian climate in the late summer is perfect for planting new potatoes, while here in the UK we’re busy harvesting and eating ours.”Branston, which has sites in Lincoln, Scotland and the South West, will be producing and packing more than 300 tonnes of the crop for Tesco. They are available loose or in a 750g bag.
“By October they’re ready to harvest and ship over to be enjoyed at their best.”
To inspire the general public and champion seasonal potatoes’ health, versatility and affordability, Branston has launched a consumer initiative, Seasonal Spuds.
The dedicated website and associated social media channels host recipes for seasonal new potatoes, as well as general information about potatoes.
