The Fabula fields of Cameron Farms, Hampton, Prince Edward Island show good yields with excellent quality.

The yellow-fleshed potato, Fabula, has made a splash in the potato marketplace.

Although different from Yukon Gold, it is starting to gain a following - growers like it for low input costs, high disease resistance and the ability to grow under conditions of heat and drought. Also highly appreciated for organic production.

The tubers tend to be large, plump oval shaped with a bright cream/light yellow skin and flesh color. Few medium deep eyes, predominantly apical. Rapid and early tuber development requires careful monitoring of tuber sizes to optimize marketable yields, Fabula sizes rapidly at the end of the season.

Low input costs, high disease resistance and the ability to grow under conditions of heat and drought make Fabula a favoured choice among knowledgeable potato producers. Low Nitrogen requirement for best quality with high yields.

Consumers are discovering that Fabulas are ideal for potato dishes that require a potato to remain moist, such as for roasting or in stews. Low to medium specific gravity, fairly firm texture;none to trace after cooking blackening;good for boiling and baking.
