June 13, 2014
Herbert Engineering, market leaders in handling systems for the agricultural, fresh pack and process industries, has invested in a new state-of-the-art laser cutting machine to increase manufacturing efficiencies and produce highly accurate component parts.

Herbert’s new Trumpf 3040 cutter is a compact machine that features a high-powered laser for exceptional quality precision cutting and maximum material usage. The system uses one cutting head for all thicknesses of steel up to 25mm thick, with the machine’s linear drive technology increases speed and flexibility.

Andy Hubble, commercial manager of Herbert Engineering, said: “The purchase of the new laser cutter is part of our on-going investment in the latest manufacturing technology. It is enabling us to speed up key elements of the manufacturing process for a large range of our machine components and increase the quality of the finished products. This provides increased quality systems and helps to keep the cost of manufacturing under control.
