The World Potato Congress (WPC) is looking to increase its networking role for the global professional potato value chain, especially during the interval between congresses.

As a result, WPC is setting up a webinar series to bring potato professionals together by offering presentations to share inspiring and innovative knowledge or visions.

On Monday, February 25, 2019 at 09:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, WPC President, Romain Cools, will introduce this new communication approach with the first webinar entitled:

“World Potato Congress Inc. - Premier Global Networking Organization”.

A second webinar will be held on March 8, 2019 at 09:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time with Dr. Peter VanderZaag, WPC Director.

Dr. VanderZaag will share his thoughts on:

“Geographic Constraints in Potato Breeding: Role of Day Length, Temperature and Light Intensity in Selecting for Adaptation”.

The host for the WPC webinar series will be WPC Director, Dr. Nora Olsen (norao@uidaho.edu).
Interested participants can register and will be able to interact with the presenters of the webinar. To register for the February 25, 2019 webinar with Romain Cools please register here.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. A further News Release will be sent out with the registration information for the second webinar in late February 2019.

The webinars will be recorded and therefore, those who are unable to join us live can view these webinars via the WPC website www.potatocongress.org until December 31, 2019.

WPC will evaluate this first series of webinars and determine the timing and subjects of future webinars - likely in the fall of 2019 and beyond leading up to the 11th World Potato Congress to be held from May 24-27, 2021 in Dublin, Ireland.

WPC looks forward to interacting with you during this new initiative. We welcome all your comments and suggestions via info@potatocongress.org.
