Micronutrients are plant nutrients that are found in trace levels in tissues yet are critical for plant growth and development. Plant nutrition would be affected without these nutrients, perhaps resulting in lower plant productivity.

Micronutrients include Iron, Manganese, Copper, Zinc, Boron, Molybdenum, Nickel, Chlorine out of which Boron, Copper, Zinc and Manganese are the most important for potato crop.

Boron is needed in greatest quantities in order to ensure several key growth processes while Manganese and zinc are important for yield as zinc also plays an important role in starch formation.
