Russia's online construction journal Construction.RU has reported the start of the construction of a potato processing plant in the Tyumen region, a region in the southern part of the Uporovsky district, Russia. It is said to be the first such facility in the region

This follows a similar announcement from The facility in the Tyumen region is designed to process up to 30,000 tons of potatoes per year and produce between 15,000 and 17,000 tons of end products. The plant is expected to release the first production lot by the end of 2018.

Based on the ratio between potato input and product output PotatoPro assumes this is a processing facility for the production of french fries with a capacity in the order of magnitude of 3 tons of finished product per hour.

The project also includes the construction of a storage facility in 2019.

The plant is expected to release the first production lot by the end of 2018. Products are planned to be delivered to retail store chains and public nutrition facilities.

This announcement follows the announcement last month of plans for a potato processing facility in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan.
