Fire at Olde York Potato Chip Plant
A fire broke out at the Olde York Potato Chips plant in Brampton, Ontario early Friday morning (June 17).
Fire crews were at the Olde York Potato Chips plant shortly after 3 a.m. and they had the fire extinguished prior to 4 a.m.
Fire officials say it appears the fire broke out in the ventilation system in one of the factory’s fryer systems.
Police said a number of people were treated for smoke inhalation but the full extent of injuries is not known.
The extent of the damage is not yet known, but does not appear to be major.
