Miedema launches Smart Solutions

Because labourers are becoming an ever-scarcer commodity, today’s farmer requires customised machines that perfectly match the way he works.

In order to meet this need, Miedema has formed a new department: Miedema Smart Solutions, headed by Marcel Mulder.

This department focuses on custom projects, like the Smart Grader electronic grading machine, special combined machines and cleaning units, as well as other important electronics-related developments.


Marcel Mulder, Manager Smart Solutions:

“The new department’s mission is to find smart, affordable solutions to non-standard situations. This is achieved in close collaboration with the customer. We discuss the needs with him in detail, then help him put together a package of requirements.

Moreover, our custom solution encompasses more than just the machine: Miedema Smart Solutions also offers custom lease forms.” Miedema Smart Solutions continues to oversee the project right through delivery of the machine.

Guido Mangnus, Global Marketing Director, explains: “A good example is the Smart Grader with hopper installation for Sijtsma in Sint Jacobiparochie (The Netherlands) which was delivered in December 2012 and is now already fully operational in the production environment. After having sat down with Sijtsma on a number of occasions to develop a fitting concept, the installation was quickly produced and put in production, to their full satisfaction.”
